Discover Bots
Discover Bots is our NEW robotics program for students in Kindergarten and 1st Grade for the 2026-2027 school year! The first step in the Broomfield Robotics pipeline, Discover Bots introduces students to a variety of different robots, tasks and screen-free coding opportunities, all through hands-on play, exploration, and challenges to solve.
Students enrolled in Discover Bots for the 2026-2027 program year will be guaranteed a spot on a Broomfield Robotics team for the 2027-2028 program year as long as they attend at least 75% of the meetings while in Discover Bots. Due to extensive waitlists and limited capacity on our teams, this is your best opportunity to get a spot on our FIRST Lego League teams in the future.
Discover Bots meets on 4th Fridays 6:00 - 7:30 pm August - April and demonstrates their learning at the End of Year Expo in early May.
Discover Bots is led by mentors and our FIRST Tech Challenge robotics students using curriculum designed by Broomfield STEM staff and our BroomBots robotics team. Parent mentors are welcome! Please visit our mentors page for more information.

Where do you meet?
All meetings are held at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church - 1700 10th Avenue in Broomfield, Colorado. Holy Comforter is our generous host, but our programs are not religiously oriented and people of all or no faith backgrounds are welcome.
How much does it cost to participate?
For the 2026-2027 school year the regular student fee for Discover Bots is $280/year. We never want cost to be a barrier to participation, so beginning with the 2026-2027 school year we are implementing a tiered fee structure for all our programs. Please click here to learn more.
What are the attendance expectations for students?
We believe that consistency is an important part of learning and building strong relationships. We ask that our Discover Bots attend regularly and participate fully. While we are flexible in attendance so that our members can prioritize their health, education and family, we ask that if your student and family cannot commit to attending at least 75% of the meetings each semester, you discuss this with us prior to joining to the program.
Does my student have to participate in both semesters?
Our Discover Bots curriculum is a full year curriculum so we expect students to participate in both semesters. If your student withdraws for the second semester, you will still be responsible for paying the student fees for that semester. (Please see our cancellation policy for more information.) If your child then wishes to rejoin or move up to the next level of Broomfield Robotics, they may be placed back on the wait list until space becomes available again.
How do I register my student?
Registration for the 2026-2027 school year will open in late March. Since this is a new program, spots will be offered first to currently enrolled Early Engineers, followed by K-1 students on the Early Engineers 2026-2027 waitlist. Click below to join the waitlist before registration opens.
Students will be chosen off the wait list based on the grade and gender balances of the group, other siblings or parents involved with Broomfield STEM, and the length of time a student has been on the wait list. Wait lists do carry over from year to year, and we use them to gauge interest for future program planning. You will be asked to re-enroll on the waitlist each year beginning in August to confirm you are still interested, but you will not lose your initial place in line.
Invitations to enroll will be sent via email beginning in late March, and will continue until all spots are filled. Please watch your email box for your invitation to register beginning in late March.
