FIRST Lego League Challenge Teams Compete in the 2025 Unearthed Season!

Congratulations to our FIRST Lego League Challenge Team the BroomBricks! They competed at the South Denver Qualifier over the weekend and had a great day! They finished in 5th Place in Robot Games, earned the 2nd Place Champions Award (the award that recognizes the top all-around team in all four areas of competition), and they qualified to compete at the Colorado State Championship on December 6th. Way to go, team!

We are so proud of our BroomBlocks, who competed at the South Denver FIRST Lego League (FLL) Tournament today. They received two top scores for their gracious and professional behavior as a team, and they won the 2nd Place Innovation Project Award for their proposal to use robots to navigate land mines that surround archeological sites. Way to go BroomBlocks!

The Colorado State FLL Championship was a terrific learning experience for our two FLL teams that qualified to compete: the BroomBricks and the BroomBoltz! There were 58 teams from across Colorado in attendance and our teams finished solidly in the middle of the pack! They got to meet other teams from around Colorado, visit with friends from other Broomfield-based teams, try their hand at an electronics project, meet R2-D2, and every student came home with a Colorado State Championship medal. It was a positive experience for all involved, and we are so grateful our students had the opportunity to participate!

The BroomBuilders, our youngest FIRST Lego League (FLL) Challenge team, had a fantastic time at their very first FLL Tournament yesterday! They finished in 12th place out of 24 teams and they won the 2nd place Robot Design Award. That is a solid start for a rookie team, and we are so proud of them and all their hard work and persistence. Way to go Builders!

The BroomBoltz competed on Saturday, November 22, 2025 and they did an awesome job! They finished in 8th place on table missions, won the First Place Innovation award for their Cave-In survival backpack project, and they qualified for the Colorado State FLL Championships. Way to go Boltz!

FIRST Tech Challenge Teams Compete in the 2025 Decode Season!

Congratulations to Fellowship of the Broom for winning the challenging Think Award at their first qualifier on December 13, 2025! The Think Award is awarded by judges to the team that excels at documenting their engineering journey, focusing on the process, math, science, and design iterations in their Engineering Portfolio. The team put a lot of time and effort into improving their portfolio and documentation this season, and we're excited to see their hard work pay off. Way to go Fellowship!
