SWENext Clubs are dynamic communities for high school students passionate about engineering and technology. They aim to foster a local network where young individuals can explore diverse STEM fields through engaging, hands-on activities. Clubs provide invaluable resources for college preparation, including scholarship guidance (national SWE and local), internship opportunities, and application support. Leadership members also develop critical leadership, planning, and communication skills, preparing them for future academic and professional success. SWENext also increases the visibility of different engineering fields, connecting students with inspiring role models and making STEM careers accessible and exciting for everyone.

About Our SWE Next Club

SWEep Squad is Broomfield STEM’s first SWENext Club! Club #2543 was launched in 2025. There are two levels of involvement with SWEep Squad: general membership, where you attend our community events; and leadership, where you can plan events and help build our STEM community.

As a leader, you'll be instrumental in:

  • Creating a Thriving Community: Help foster a local environment where young women excited about engineering and technology can connect, learn, and grow.

  • Curating Valuable Resources: Take charge in collecting and sharing essential resources for college prep, scholarship opportunities (including national SWE scholarships and local professional section awards!), high school internships, and FAFSA guidance.

  • Developing Your Leadership Skills: This is your chance to hone crucial skills in planning, executing projects, effective communication, and "breaking down the problem" – all invaluable for college and beyond.

  • Prioritizing Hands-On Learning: Be the driving force behind planning and executing exciting, hands-on STEM activities that make our meetings fun and impactful.

If you're ready to take initiative, inspire others, and make a tangible difference in the world of STEM, we want you on the SWENext Leadership Team. Please reach out to audrey@broomfieldstem.org to learn more about joining!
